After years of consistent endeavor LRB now is a legendary name in the history of Bangladeshi Band music. Ayub Bachchu the name behind the band started his career with the band SOULS, one of the pioneers in the band movement of Bangladesh. In 1991 Ayub Bachchu left SOULS after 10 long years of practice for perfection and formed LRB. Ayub Bachchu brought up LRB from the deepest of his impulse, its something beyond hi devotion for music. Tutul, Joy and Swapan joined the band at the same time as the other co-members.

LRB started to play live gigs on the following years for flood victims and their history of proceeding began. Millions of music loving people accepted their music with love. People’s enthusiastic presence in every show portrays the undoubted popularity of the band among them.

With the eagerness to create something revolutionary LRB released their first debut in 1992, which was a double album of Bangladeshi music history and entirely a new concept in Bangladeshi music and to the listeners as well.

Through the years of proceeding a number of musicians came to share their visions with the band. Joy, Milton, Sumon and Tutul are the ex-member. The recent change in the band line-up happened when Riyad left the band and Romel joined instead. LRB believe in self-criticism, in the salvation of their souls. That is why the band remains unparallel in their type of music. Besides the key person Ayub Bachchu mostly known as AB is famous for his fabulous guitar playing. Along with the band AB also enjoys a solo entity and tremendous fan acceptance. Apart from band albums AB released seven fantastic solo albums.

LRB performed in more than thousand of gigs in the home and abroad. Their first show outside country was held in India. It was in 1997 at Jadavpur University. At the same time Ayub Bachchu was invited as a judge at the rock fest held in M Joka. In 1998, LRB went for their first international tour in USA and they played at 7 states. Qatar, Abudhabi, Japan, Germany, Austria (Vienna), Italy all these are the other Asian countries where the band performed. In the year 2000 they went for their second tour in USA. In Europe the band played its first show in Austria in the year 2002. They also have played in United Kingdom and Australia. LRB is the only bangla rock band which played their music in the famous Madison Square Garden.

LRB had a few concert between the years 2003-2006 at abroad. LRB performed twice at Rome, Belgium, they also performed Frankfurt of Germany. LRB performed at Singapore and Hong Kong. At Singapore they performed at Fort Canyon Park stage. By this time LRB played at Wembley Arena, London. In the year 2005 and 2006, LRB executed at many stages of India. Important to mention some of them are, Salt Lake Stadium (Rock Jugalbandi Part 1 & 2), Science City Theater, Alpha Bangla, ETV Bangla, Najrul Manch, Rabindra Shorobor, Guru Nanak University (Jodhpur), Haldia Utshab, Durgapur University.

Aiub Bachchu:

Ayub Bachchu is a famous Bangladeshi rock musician and one of the leading guitarists in the country. Born in 16 August at Chittagong, Bangladesh he was initially a member of the band Feelings and later he joined the band Souls as lead guitarist. Finally he formed his own band titled LRB (the acronym originally came from Little River Band, but since another band already had that name, Bachchu changed it to Love Runs Blind). LRB is the first band in Bangladeshi Band history to release two double albums. He is well known for his distinctive headgear and guitars.

Though he started out his guitar career with a Korean guitar named Hondo now he owns a number of Ibanez, Fender and Acoustic guitars. Even though he started out as a Rock musician he eventually branched out to the more mainstream music of Bangladesh. Nevertheless, Ayub Bachchu has contributed heavily to the development of Bangladeshi Rock Music. Jimi Hendrix & Joe Satriani are his inspirations as a guitarist. Ayub Bachchu has his own recording Studio at Mogbazar, Dhaka named, AB kitchen.

Abdullah – Al – Masud born in the year 17th November of 1976, in the historic city of Meherpur. Masud known as MASS to his all fans & LRB.
From his very childhood, he loved music. Only at the age of thirteen, he proved his enthusiasm for music & started learning to play his favorite instrument guitar in the year 1989. Only because of his extra ordinary talent & innovative intelligence, he established incredible control over guitar and within a very short time; he started to play guitar in local stages. Throughout that surpassing of time he struggled all the ways for music and guitar.

In the year of 1993, he established Tried Guitar School and contributed eight years of his career in teaching guitar to youngsters. In the meantime, he formed a band named “The Tempest” with his friends. The journey of “The Tempest” started in the year 1995 and in the year 2000 he left “The Tempest”. In his music career, “The Tempest” has contributed a lot. Mass has performed in many famous stage of Bangladesh while he was in “The Tempest”.

The year 2003 was the moving stage of his career for which he becomes famous as a lead star of Bangladesh by joining LRB. MASS joined in LRB as a third guitarist in the year of 2003. Fans of LRB responded significantly towards the new band formation of LRB and very quickly accepted the new performer in the band.

It is very important to say that, he greatly inspired by AB when he was a young learner. In 1991, he saw AB for the first time in television playing LRB’s famous track “Ghum Vhanga Shahore”. This song changed his thinking upside down and greatly influenced him to become a guitarist and furthermore boost up his inspiration.

He likes to listen, Jimi Hendrix, Vini more, Stave Vai, Slash, Joe Satriani, John Petrucci, Marty Friedman, Eric Johnson and Eddie Van Halen.

LRB is his all time favorite band. He also likes Warfaze, Rock Strata & Winning’s old lineup. MASS also reckons Dream Theater, Guns & Roses, Pink Floyd and some other western and European bands.

Muhammad Saidul Hasan Swapan is one of the senior member of LRB. He is known for his great contribution as a Bass Guitarist in the Band. He was born in 1962, the 2nd of November in Pabna District. He is the second child of the three children of Mr. Sohrabuddin and Ramicha Begum.
Though his birth place and father’s village was in Pabna, he came to Chittagong with his entire family when he was only six months old. Thus the famous port city became his domain where he finished his academic life and was eventually engaged with music and flourished to the full brim. He spent his childhood era at immense pleasure. His childhood school was Agrabad Government High School and later on, he completed his High Secondary Certificate from Chittagong City College and then he refined his graduation from Chittagong College.

He was exposed to cultural affairs from the very beginning of his life. His father was an enlisted artist of Bangladesh Radio and his mother was involved in many societal work and cultural activities. His elder brother, Rashedul Hasan Milon was a marvelous Tabla performer and his younger brother, Masudul Hasan Khokon was a bass-guitarist of a famous band `SOULS’. Consequently, he has got enormous support from his family for learning music and getting into the world of melody and harmony.

When his acquaintances were mad about Cinema and Theatre, he used to think about music. He was knack about football. For watching football matches between Mohammedan and Abahani, he used to visit Dhaka. He has seen many superstar and famous artist singing in Bangladesh Radio Station with his father. During that time, he was introduced to the mesmérien guitarist Noyon Munshi. Subsequently,we can take for granted; he got into wonderful music world at a very small age.

In the year 1984 he started playing his first Acoustic Guitar. During the early 80s, world famous bands like Dire Straights, Santana, Bob Marley, Black Sabbath songs were broadcasted in Radio Australia. All the above mentioned bands songs and the mixture of new musical instruments diverted his mind in the director of rock music. Stargazing to be like his idols made him reverie to be like them. A stunning situation occurred at that time, when his younger brother was a bass-guitarist in a renowned band ‘Souls’. To compete with his younger brother he started to play to bass-guitar. He used to tell his younger brother, “One day, I will spiel the bass guitar better than you”.

He doesn’t have any sort of education from any institution for playing the guitar. It came naturally to him and he has learned art of playing this instrument all by his himself. He has described his experience of learning to play the guitar in the following way:

“The urged to play guitar mesmerized me all the time. At that time I have seen Ayub Bachchu in Chittagong playing the guitar. Suddenly, all my attention and intuition went to AB’s way of playing the instrument. Whatever it takes I have to learn to play the guitar from Ayub Bachchu. I was totally adamant to find him in Chittagong in places he used to hang out with his friends. And one day, I met him. He said, ‘Come when you have time, I will teach you’. After that I have learned from A-Z from the maestro himself. I will be ever indebted to AB for what he has done.”

In the year 1987, he joined as a bass-guitarist in a newly formed band named ‘FEELINGS’. But it was for a short time, because after going through a little phase of ‘FEELINGS’ was wrecked apart. It was again reformed by famous James and the name was changed to ‘NAGAR BAUL’ but Swapan did not go back to ‘NAGAR BAUL’. Before joining LRB, ‘FEELINGS’ was the first band which Swapan involved. Later on, during the year 1988 he used to play solo in different stage programs with Ayub Bachchu.

It was in the year 1991, when LRB started their epic journey as full fledged band. Ayub Bachchu, Swapan, Tutul and Joy set off together in a bid to unfold a brilliant chapter in the history of Bangladeshi Rock Music. And Swapan is the name which was always there to contribute his dedication and brilliance to give LRB the shape in which we see it today. He is still there today, standing by the side of Ayub Bachchu with the promise and hope of yet changing the history of Bangladeshi Rock Music.

In his personal life Swapan is very shy and reserved, living a happy life with his wife and his little girl. His work never got in the way of family, as we know family comes first. Inspiration from his family always gives him confidence, when he plays his guitar. That is his achievement.

No matter what, we still keep discovering ourselves more, like Swapan, who learnt that Guitar learning is a never ending process. He dreams of Bess Institute of Technology, where he learns to play in the famous American Music Institute of all times.
