If you are searching for a band, MOKAM is not at all a band. If you are searching for a music school, MOKAM is also not a music learning school, MOKAM is in short a musicians’ workshop, the latest cult name in contemporary Bengali music industry, daring to scale new heights, daring to experiment with Bangla Gaan.Mayukh and Mainak name the two pillars of MOKAM, have been into “Bangla Gaan” for more than a decade. Mayukh, was among the top ten contestants of Rabindra sangeet and Bengali modern Songs organized by Rajya Sangeet Academy, West Bengal. He was also a regular artist in both the categories for All India Radio.Mainak, younger brother of Mayukh, have specialized in various musical instruments. He have taken lessons in acoustic guitar from Kabir Suman, piano from Pranab Bose, tabla from Pt. Sankar Chakraborty. Mainak is also an excellent arranger and composer and have worked with many contemporary artists and musicians. Tanmoy Bose, Bikram Ghose, are two of the noted names that is worth mentioning who have worked with MOKAM.
